If you asked me what I like most about the agency world, I would answer: Our clients. It is such a privilege and joy to work in partnership with great clients. I know I speak for the whole team when I say we love our jobs because we love helping clients.

That’s why we are so grateful to have been honored with the 2009 Customer Service Award from Walmart Financial Services. Our teamwork with Financial Services is a continuing source of pride because of their dedication to excellence in products and services. Who doesn’t enjoy working with the best?

So we offer our thanks to Jane Thompson and her entire team at Walmart. The award has a place of honor in our offices. It’s an inspiration and a reminder that all our clients deserve our best efforts every day.

MCG Launches ProFound Business Enrichment Consortium. Join now!

Posted in ProFound on June 16th, 2010 by Blake

The ProFound Business Enrichment Consortium (PBEC) is the newest organizational and leadership development product from Mitchell Communications Group. PBEC is a member-based initiative that offers employers who become members high quality, relevant training for their employees on a consistent basis. PBEC trainings are designed for front-line employees, rising stars and new hires.

Prior to formalizing our concept for the consortium, MCG conducted research throughout the region to identify the greatest training needs of small to mid-sized companies. Our findings helped us develop meaningful, affordable and applicable curriculum designed to develop employees.

Trainings have been divided into four key topic categories: communication, effective teams, leadership and managing others. A description of each one of the courses can be reviewed at:

If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact Chris Case at 479.443.4673 or chris.case@mitchcommgroup.com

Posted in Mitchell Team on May 26th, 2010 by Elise

Over the past 15 years, MCG has been fortunate to harness the talent of exceptional professionals across the country who focus every day on anticipating and meeting our clients’ evolving needs. Our bench strength and expertise has allowed us the honor of working with industry-leading companies and well respected brands.

Today we are excited to announce we are expanding our talent and service offerings with: the addition of Sarah Clark and Kate Andersen; the promotion of Heather Ellington; and the establishment of two new practice areas that bring together our agency’s broad expertise in corporate communications and consumer practice.

Sarah Clark and our new corporate communications practice

Sarah joins MCG as a senior vice president to establish and lead the newly formed corporate communications practice, which will provide strategic counsel and implementation in the following areas:

  • Reputation management
  • Issues management
  • Crisis communications
  • Corporate social responsibility
  • Strategic media relations
  • Employee communications

Sarah brings 25 years of experience in corporate communications. Most recently she was vice president for benefits communication and outreach, and prior to that a senior director of corporate communications at Walmart Stores, Inc. In these roles, she led numerous high profile initiatives involving reputation management, external relations and provided strategic counsel to executive leadership on issues such as employment, health care, benefits, sustainability, litigation and labor. Prior to Walmart, Sarah worked in the telecommunications industry including directing efforts in public relations, media relations, community affairs, employee communications and advertising.

Heather Ellington and our new consumer practice

Heather Ellington has been promoted to vice president and will lead our newly formed consumer practice, which will offer:

  • Consumer media relations
  • Category communications
  • Product promotion
  • Brand positioning
  • Brand content creation and distribution
  • Business, consumer and community insights

Heather has more than 18 years of experience in communications with specific expertise in the retail, health care and food industries. In her new role, Heather will lead the daily operations of the consumer practice group, be in charge of the development of agency research and business intelligence resources, and provide strategic counsel across all consumer clients. She will also continue in her current role as client-relationship manager for the agency’s Walmart and Sam’s Club accounts.

Kate Andersen and our expanding creative and digital communications

We continue to deepen our creative capabilities to meet clients’ growing creative and digital needs. To lead these efforts, Kate Andersen has joined us as our new director of creative and digital communications.

A 15-year veteran of the creative industry, Kate comes to us from Kansas City where she most recently served as group creative director for one of the nation’s leading B2B advertising agencies. She is known for producing highly effective, relevant, award-winning creative work and is a respected senior-level writer. Our expanding services in this department now include:

  • Graphic design
  • Video and digital production
  • Website design and development
  • Social media platform design and content creation
  • Social media training and consulting
  • E-communications

We continue to offer full-service strategic and marketing communications as well as organizational and leadership development services. When combined with our new practice areas and expanded creative and digital services, we seek to offer clients even greater expertise, resources and passion to help them establish and achieve meaningful relationships, enhanced reputation and above all, exceptional business results.

It is a privilege to do what we love every day with clients who inspire us. We are grateful for our long-standing clients as well as the new opportunities that continue to come our way. Please know that all of our staff remain available to our agency’s clients and friends, and we invite you to contact us any time we can be of service.
